Chautauqua was an adult entertainment movement in the United States highly popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The above advertiment mentions a "warm room" as a lure to get attendees.

Mount Dora was a VERY popular destination for Chautauqua activities! We have a collection of programs for these events as well as several photos in the exhibit.
